Directorial
Districts
The American Goat
Society is divided into five districts in the United States, Canada, Mexico,
and other areas that provide members. Each district is allotted two Directors
to represent members from that district at annual meetings and in
decision-making. Three Directors-at-Large also sit on the Board. These
districts are divided based on membership numbers in order to provide a more
equitable balance of districts.
Directors
and Officers
The
AGS is a democratic organization run by elected Directors.
The
13-member Board of Directors consists of two Board members from each of five
districts and three at-large Board members who represent and are elected by
the AGS membership as a whole. District directors hold 2-year terms, at-large
directors 3-year terms.
The
President and the Vice President of AGS are elected by the Board of Directors.
Appointed Committees
The
President appoints Committee Chairs at each annual meeting.
Committees are made up of members who have volunteered or been invited
to serve on specific committees.
